Are you tired of your slow internet speed? Are you getting the low internet speed? Here are some tips for both dial up as well as broadband users. Simply following these steps can increase the speed of your internet connection.
A fully functional system comprises of a Computer, Internet Connection, Web Browser, ISP Telephone Number. Internet speed varies depending on the type of internet connection you are using whether it’s a DSL or Cable connection. Internet Connection is also affected by the number of users sharing the internet connection with you. During the peak hours there are greater number of users and hence there’s a variation in the internet connection speed.
Next you can check your actual Internet Speed from your service provider (ISP) based on your plan and compare it to the actual speed you are getting at your end by using the Speed Test Websites available. - Check Your Add-ons under the Tools tab in the menu bar and disable the unnecessary ones which can slow down the internet speed.
- Run the complete system scan cleaning out viruses, adware, spyware and malware. They consume your internet speed like the parasites suck blood.
- Perform regular Disk Cleanup and Disk Degragmentation. In order to defragment a drive, Right Click the desired drive and click Properties. Under the Tools tab click Defragment Now.
- A TCP Optimizer can fine tune and optimize the speed of your internet connection. You can use some Free Tools Available at Download.com
- SG TCP Optimizer 2.0.3 (Free): This is a well designed program with a user friendly interface used to fine tune and optimize your internet performance. It helps to easily find the precise MTU and RWIN values, check latency, and analyze all the important broadband related registry parameters.
- XP TCP/IP Repair 2.0 (Free): This program helps fixing up internet connection and possibly also protects your privacy. XP TCP/IP Repair has a friendly GUI (Graphical User Interface) to execute commands in Windows XP that most probably repair your TCP/IP registry settings and your Winsock LSP settings.
Now after performing all the tricks mentioned above you are ready to check your speed again and compare it with the previous one.
